You can follow the kittens and their upbringing on this page. We will keep you up to date as changes happen.
Birth
and the first week:
On 13th May Malou gave birth to her B-litter. You can read more
about the actual delivery under the heading
birth. It was 3 very large
kittens weighing from 122 to 124 grams. Kittens are born deaf and blind and
the first week they will stay this way and just concentrate on getting
bigger.
The nursing of the kittens is going very well Malou is very proud of her
kittens and is constantly taking care of them. She really enjoys when we
humans take part in nursing them. Every night when I go to bed Malou brings
all three kittens under the covers where we enjoy each others company while
she feeds them. She has started showing interest in going out of the room and
saying hallo to the other cats. It is going very well and she even allows
the other cats to come into the room and have a look at the kittens. But
only Joachim has been allowed to go into the maternity-box and sniffing the
kittens.
Kittens
1 week old:
The kittens weight have increased very nicely during the first week and are
going into their second week healthy and in good shape.
On 23rd May the kittens are 10 days old and the little female (no. 2) is starting to open her eyes. She is the largest kitten in the litter but I am sure that the two males will have another say in that matter during their upbringing.
