On 19th
November 2005 we went to the Cat Show in Hjallerup with our 3 cats. Below
you can read how the cats did.
Alisan
von Frankenthal:
Once again our Turkish Angora did very well in a cat show. He got his certificate
and thereby obtained the title: PREMIER. The judge thought he was the best
Turkish Angora in the show and considered him for a nomination;
unfortunately he lost to a cat of a different race.
Safkan
Kedi’s Joachim:
This was Joachim’s first cat show and he handled himself very well. He was
very relaxed all day just lying around in the cage all day. When we took him
to the judging cage he started playing but later he simply went to sleep
which meant the judge had to wake him up before taking a look at him.
The
judge was very pleased with Joachim.
Among other
things she said he had very nice fur and a good temper. She thought he was
the best Turkish Van she had seen in Hjallerup but chose not to take him out
for nomination because he was a kitten; and she thought she had seen better
kittens of other races. I asked about the markings on his head because I
know that he does not have perfect markings. She simply answered that it
didn’t matter. It was stated in the race description how the markings SHOULD
be and not HAD to be. Therefore the judge didn’t want to downgrade a cat
that didn’t have perfect markings. As you may imagine I was very proud of my
breed as I left the judging table which I was sure to let the other breeders
at the show know.
Soyadi’s Anamur:
I brought her to the show although I knew she probably wouldn’t get to see a
judge. She has suffered some psychologically problems as a result of her
Caesarean and therefore I was prepared that I would have to withdraw her
from the judging. This was done only 1 hour after arriving at the show. She
was very nervous to be there and avoided all contact with humans. Therefore
I withdrew her in order to avoid any unfortunate behaviour at the judges
table.
